Meaningful Monday "The Heel"

Ezekiel Bread

I hope you had a wonderful Father's Day weekend!  You are probably wondering why I am showing you this picture of pieces of bread today.  Reflecting on Father's Day made me realize how much my papa did for me and my family.  If you asked me what reminded me of him the most, I would have to say bread...when I see"the heel" piece particularly.  He was the one who stayed together with my mom when she was sick, did the grocery shopping, cleaned the house, worked a full time job, and cooked healthy dinners for us every night.  He did his share, and then some.  He went above and beyond what most men would do.  And when it came down to the last two pieces of bread, he would always give me the "good piece" and take "the heel".

  2. Such a beautiful post in rememberance of your dad. He sounded like one in a million. I couldn't help but notice the similarities between your dad and mine. When my mom got sick, my dad had to "do it all" as well. I'm not sure how these great men found the stamina to do it!

  4. thank you for sharing this! Everytime I feel like I can't take it anymore, I think of my dad and how hard he worked everyday and never complained. Nowadays he doesn't work as much as he used to ( he retired from his job and now he works in tourism), but he is still an inspiration for me.
