Hello and Happy Wednesday to you!  How is your week going?  Since spring is here, I decided to pair these berry tones together.  I was thinking of strawberries and raspberries when I styled this look.  When it comes to pie, strawberry is my absolute favorite with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top....mmm.  However, peach, blueberry, raspberry, and olallieberry are very close behind.  What is your favorite kind of pie?

As you can see, I have a thing for ruffles:)  When I think of spring, I think of anything feminine...the color pink, florals, ruffles, and bows.  I'm making a very slow transition to spring clothing this year.  Today, I thought I'd pair a lighter pastel piece with this neutral pair of Paige gray denim (my favorite jeans at the moment) and a few heavier textures left over from winter.  I bought this velvet berry Moschino bag years ago and usually wear it during winter months.  One of my favorite ways to transition into spring attire is by adding different layers of textures to give spring looks more depth and edge.  This is my little style tip for transitioning into spring looks.  How are you transitioning into spring looks this year?  I'd love to hear from you in the comments below.

Stay Stylish!

Hello!  How are you?  Do you ever get bored and want to try something new? Try mixing something up completely the opposite of what you'd normally wear.  For example, you can try mixing two really unusual color tones together to see what you come up with.  Red and green are complete opposites, but somehow pairing these two just seemed to go together just right.  What do you think?  The real trick here is balancing these two colors with the right amount of black and this neutral pair of gray Paige denim.

Do you own any vintage bags?  I am seriously obsessed with this black vintage bag.  The unique flap on this bag is so sharp and balances out the feminine ruffles in this outfit.  It's the perfect size to carry around as a clutch, but also as a shoulder bag because it has a hidden strap inside.  I always look for hidden straps on clutches to make it easier to carry for extended periods of time.

How do you feel about ruffle collar blouses?  Ruffle collar blouses are my favorite kind of blouses next to bow collar blouses.  They are so feminine and add the perfect balance to a more structured blazer.

What do you think about wearing colorful animal prints?  Yes or No?  I say "yes" to colorful animal print patterns.  You can never go wrong with brown, but I really like to mix it up and have some fun with olive, red, and blue animal prints.  It can take some time to get comfortable with the idea.  A lot of us would never be seen wearing colorful animal print patterns, but I think it shows confidence and a fun personality to the world.  They are bold pieces to wear, but can add a lot of interest to an otherwise very basic outfit.

Hope you are having a great week:)

Vintage Shopping at A Current Affair

Hello!  How was your weekend?  This weekend was particularly fun because I was able to do a little pop up vintage shopping at an event in downtown Los Angeles called A Current Affair at the Cooper Design Space.

This event featured the "best of the best vintage and stylishly dressed fashionistas under one roof".  There were over 60 vintage shops in attendance.  Some of the shops there included: Recess, Scout, Just Say Native, and Mixed Business.

It was my first time attending this one of a kind shopping experience.  I saw some of the most unique pieces of jewelry, accessories, and clothing from the past.  Also, the exhibitors impressed me with their boundless knowledge of the history behind each piece they carried.  That day, I also learned something else. Women's clothing was a lot more feminine in the past, and each piece was made of high quality materials and sewn with great care.  When you purchase a vintage piece, you purchase a unique, high quality item and a piece of history as well.  Love this!

Another highlight of this event was that it was hosted by Jane Aldridge from Sea of Shoes, whose style I completely adore.  It was really nice meeting her and seeing several vintage outfits she styled for the event.  She is so stylish and sweet!

Additionally, they served light refreshments with music by DJ Marion from KCRW.  I love music from KCRW, especially music from the show Morning Becomes Eclectic.  Have you heard music from this radio show?

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together.  If you haven't experienced vintage shopping at A Current Affair events, I would definitely recommend it.    A Current Affair takes place three times a year in Los Angeles and twice a year in New York.  Maybe I'll see you there next time.

Hope you are having a Stylishly Sensational Week!
